About me
I am Vindhya Prasad, a postdoctoral researcher at Louisiana State University where I am working with Prof. Muriel Brückner in Civil and Environmental Engineering department. My postdoc research is focused on numerical modeling of delta formation considering the effects of vegetation life-cycle. We are using high-resolution DEM and vegetation data (1 m and finer) to model the Wax Lake and Atchafalaya Deltas (part of the Mississippi Delta system) to understand the dynamics better.
I got my PhD at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in Fall 2024 where I worked with Prof. Rafael Tinoco (Ecohydraulics and Ecomorphodynamics Lab). My PhD research was focused on developing a novel barrier to capture the eggs and larvae of invasive carp. Prior to that I did my master's at Clemson University where I was a part of Prof. Kalyan Piratla's lab. I did my undergrad at Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee in Civil Engineering. My curriculum vitae (CV) can be seen here.
